I’ve lived in this region most of my life.I am living here my homestay here, and even now, after so many years, it still finds new ways to surprise me.So if you’re someone who loves nature, peace, and real, honest beauty — let me take you through 22 of my favorite and very beautiful places around Matale.These are mountains some I’ve hiked,some mountains hiked by my friends.trails I’ve walked, and views I’ve shared with travelers from all over the world.Let’s begin, one step at a time.


1.RiverstonMatale viewpoints and mountains


I remember my first hike here.In my school time the wind was wild, dancing through the pine trees.The path led through misty hills and green forests.You can not believe this area.And then… the valley opened up like magic.Many guests tell me it’s like floating in the sky.

2.Pitawalapathana-Matale viewpoints and mountains


This place feels like a dream.Very famous name among local people.A wide open grass plain, soft and silent.When you go early in the morning, i think it is the best time to start.The dew sparkles on the grass and the sky glows orange.It’s peaceful in a way that’s hard to describe.

One of my favorites.unforgettable place in my life.The trail passes through quiet villages, old trees, and rocky paths.When you reach the top, the view of Thelgamuwa Valley just takes your breath away.Many people believe Ravana had a connection with this mountain

This hike is a little tough — but oh, that sunrise!it is amazing.I’ve stood there in the early morning, watching purple and orange colors fill the sky.It’s a moment that stays with you.

This is not a famous place but very beautiful .Hidden deep in the jungle, this natural pool sits at the edge of a cliff.The water is cold and clear.You float there with the whole valley stretching below.It’s like a secret gift from nature.

Not many people know this one.That’s what makes it special.sit, breathe, and listen to the wind.Pure silence.

10.Lakegala Mountain-Matale viewpoints and mountains


This is for the adventurous.The mountain is tall and pointed — almost like it was drawn in a storybook.Legends say King Ravana lived here.The view from the top is very beautiful like touching the sky.
